THE MEANING
The Kula of Shakti
In Sanskrit, kula means family: not just the one you're born into, but the one you find, the one that grows you. Shri is the name of Shakti, the divine feminine energy that creates, nourishes and sustains all life. Together, Srikula means the kula of Shakti: a family bound not by blood, but by strength.
Shakti is the force behind every heartbeat, every breath, every act of courage. It is the quiet power that helps a seed break through the soil and a person rise after a fall. In the ancient traditions of Kashmir, where Shakti has been honoured for centuries, strength was never just about muscle. It was about energy, awareness, creativity and grace. That is the strength we hope to awaken in everyone who walks through our doors.
Srikula Foundation was founded in 2024 with a simple belief: that India's timeless wisdom holds exactly what modern life is missing.
We live more connected than ever, yet many of us feel scattered, restless and alone. Our phones never go quiet, our minds rarely rest, and the practices that once grounded our grandparents feel distant. We wanted to bring them back, not as rituals from the past, but as living tools for the present.
Preserving Jammu & Kashmir's Soul
Rooted in the rich culture and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, we also work to preserve the stories, languages and traditions that make this land so special.
Our flagship initiative, the Kashmir Literature Festival, has completed three successful editions, bringing together writers, thinkers, artists and readers to celebrate and protect the region's literary legacy.
Today, we offer four paths to strength: Dhyana for a calm mind, Karma for a life of purpose, Yoga for a balanced body, and Vidya for a wiser heart. Walk one path, or walk them all. Each one leads back to yourself.
WHAT DRIVES US
Our Manifesto.
The seven principles that guide our circles, our practices, and our community.
We believe strength comes in every form.
Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. A strong life needs all of them.
We believe ancient wisdom belongs to the future.
Meditation, service, yoga and learning aren't relics. They are answers to the questions this generation is asking.
We believe heritage is worth protecting.
The culture of Jammu and Kashmir deserves to be celebrated, shared and carried forward.
We believe presence over perfection.
No one needs to be an expert to begin. You only need to show up.
We believe joy is a practice.
Not something we wait for, but something we build together, every day.
We believe what we give, we become.
Every act of kindness strengthens the giver as much as the one who receives.
We believe no one should grow alone.
That's why we are a kula, a family that walks beside you.
Together, we grow.
Whether you want to sit in stillness, give your time, move your body, or learn timeless wisdom, you belong here.
